EVERY SUNDAY: Online service Live at 10am on Facebook Halifax Lutheran Church
As restrictions are lifted please note that church life will continue to look different. There will continue to be hand sanitizer at the door for your use upon entry. Wearing masks will continue.
The congregation is asked to think about the comfort of their neighbour:
some will not want to shake hands or sit too close.;
communion for the time being will be continuous (with option to pick up a wafer for at your seat).
Church council re-evaluates COVID precautions at their monthly meeting.
as a community we follow these behaviours to keep everyone safe:
The keen will note that the lectern is close to the altar. This is for the at home audience, so they can see the speaker and the pastor when presiding at communion.
A focal point for those who sit in the hall has been created. The Word and cross are central.

Communion-to-go bags are available upon request.Each contains bread (6)pieces, juice box, and a prayer for use at home. The elements will be consecrated at church and families take home the sacrament to share in the intimacy of their own homes.
Each bag contains: bread, grape juice, and an at home liturgy (the instructions are below- and in the bag)
COMMUNION – TO- GO
Welcome to home-communion. This is very much like the practice experienced by those who are sick or are home-bound and have communion brought to them. This bread and ‘wine’ were consecrated in the presence of the community, by the pastor during Sunday worship.
Gather alone, or with those of your household,- with the whole community- as we celebrate communion across space and time.
Set out the bread and juice, perhaps on a serviette. Follow the service below. If there is more than one person have one leader or pass this page around and each take a section or two.
*note there are 6 pieces of bread to accommodate family size– share it all at once or repeat the service more than once,
